They came to power in the Seventies...
So, the implications are clear, and I thought about writing about the lost opportunities to bring greater justice to the world, but if in fact the US vis-à-vis Hussein was playing catch-up to France (Saddam and the "Jaques ChIRAQ" photo above, merci milles fois!) and others... then it makes sense beyond all, that everyone BUT Saddam wanted his voice silenced... From Dictator, to hole-potator, to maybe lost-witness-guy?
Make a Foucault pendulum out of him? There's a plan...
Documents "lost" and vital witness hung: George the First, and Bush the Lesser, have an easier escape now (et toi, M. le President Chiraq? :-) ...

Impeach... or Commit?
"What to do about George the Lesser?"
The clamor for investigations and impeachment is overwhelmingly increasing. Action by investigation under a Democratic House, and Senate, will swiftly establish explicit culpability, for George, Dick, Donald, Condaleeza and, oh... about 200 other people (ZENhopes).
Any subsequent criminal charges will range across various legitimate 'high crimes and misdemeanors', will take at least 6 to 7 months, and create a witches' brew of media-bias that can taint the ability of US Americans to fathom the depths of the acts wrought by three of the worst Congresses, two of the country's worst Attorneys General, and the worst President ever...
Should Bush the Lesser be impeached?
What disqualifies him, I believe, is total insanity: I think George W Bush should be forthwith committed for life into a secured, rehabilitative mental penitentiary facility.
To be continued...

Ford Disagreed With Bush About Invading Iraq
"But I think Cheney has become much more pugnacious" as vice president. He said he agreed with former secretary of state Colin L. Powell's assertion that Cheney developed a "fever" about the threat of terrorism and Iraq. "I think that's probably true."
All told, and as any President is now swathed in the cloth woven from their errors: look to Buzzflash, or Consortium News, or Bartcop, as resources of the true Jerry Ford... I just have a problem trashing someone I've personally met, who's mop-up actions occurred prior to my own political renaissance after the first Reagan election.
But it would help the US nation-at-risk, if any truth will come out of Ford's place in history, concerning the Kennedy assassination, or the period of transition from Watergate to Reagan...
Sometimes I actually think that Bush the Lesser should be followed by a Republican president in 2009, instead of a Democrat. When I read this from the above article, I am persuaded that it is even truer...
In the end, though, it was Vietnam and the legacy of the retreat he presided over that troubled Ford. After Saigon fell in 1975 and the United States evacuated from Vietnam, Ford was often labeled the only American president to lose a war. The label always rankled.
"Well," he said, "I was mad as hell, to be honest with you, but I never publicly admitted it."
Which Democrat wants to get smeared for the rest of time as 'the President that lost Iraq'?
Which of course pre-supposes: which Main Stream Media (MSM) wants (hint: they all do!) to taint a Democrat with such a label?
Thus it is imperative that Representative Pelosi and her Senate counterpart, Senator Heid, find a means to bring countervaling forces against any Bush-policy initiative to increase troops in Iraq.
Soon.

Jerry Ford drove a golfcart over my foot
I thought contemporaneously, in the 70s, that he was as decent a Republican President, as a post-Nixon wrung-out country could have... until I found out he'd been on the Warren Commission, when I was seven years old, along with such notables as Allen Dulles and John J McCloy... these days, such names make my skin crawl.
What else do we remember, besides his presiding over the Vietnam CUT-N-RUN maneuvers of 1975? How about his Whip-Inflation-Now (WIN) campaign? Asserting never to bail out New York City? Inheriting the inflationary years created by Nixon's departure from the Gold Standard, and how Ford left office when Jimmy Carter trounced him; the only President never to have won an election (until Bush-the-Lesser)!
But I had personal dealings with the 38th President, and you all get to read about that here, in the following series of stories:
Ia. While acting as Bell Captain for a 4Star Marriott Hotel in Vail, Colorado, I was 'cleared' by the US Secret Service for a very important 'mission': after surviving their grueling 5-question interview, I was allowed to 'drive' the hotel elevator (using the exclusivity-key) that took Mr. former President Ford, his charming wife Betty, and Bob Hope (!!!), as well as the accompanying Secret Service contingent, to our roof-top restaurant Windows.
Their entry under my guidance went very smoothly: I wish I could remember the stupid comment that I made, and to which they chuckled... golf-related, I suppose.
SIDEBAR: we had a bad day with a bus-tour-group, and the bluehairs in the bus were very pissed, and rightly so: our sales staff had never told our Front Desk team about a THIRTY-room group: they were like hornets in that bus, and my boss said "Get out there, *ZENmud* and DO SOMETHING!"
So I walked into the mobile hornets' nest, and offered them apologies, as well as a chance of a lifetime: if they agreed to disembark, I could promise them front row 'seats' as Bob Hope and Jerry Ford came into the hotel for a visit... they were awestruck, and my boss complimented my momentary lapse into brilliance... :-)~
Ib. Sometime in July of 1984, I welcomed ex-President Ford, ex-Prime Minister Giscard d'Estaing, and ex-Chancellor Helmut Schmidt into that same hotel... for a Jerry Ford World Economic Forum...
II. A year or so later, at the annual Jerry Ford Golf Tournament, I was with a radical-Republican friend of mine, who shall remain nameless (it's not his fault... heh heh), and we were out at the Singletree Golf Club, when Jerry drove up with Bob Hope, again, in a cart... we were alone near the spectator-control rope as the famous duo approached; I held up voluntarily the rope so Mr. Ford could pass by, little knowing that he'd aim the cart exactly onto my right foot, which hurt about as much as if Rosie O'Donell sat on it...ie: not bad! :-))
III. Another year gone by, another story: I now knew a couple of the US SS that hung out annually with Jerry's Vail contingent, and once, for a Crosby, Stills and Nash acoustic concert in Vail, I was late to work the bar, and rode up, unthinkingly leaving me without my massive lock, for my racing bicycle.
I saw one of the agents I knew (Let's call him Jim), and he saw that I WAS PISSED off at myself... "what's wrong?" he said.
"I left my fuckin' bike lock at home, and have to work the bar... is Jerry here?"
"Yes, and how are you going to protect your bike? Want me to watch it?"
"Could you watch a radical Democrat's bicycle, while protecting the Lincoln of a establishment Republican ex-president?" I smiled...
"No problem, but: keep your eye on us, if we have to leave early, you're on your own!"
So there you go; Jerry, I think your claim to fame was giving Beaver Creek, Colorado, an early and important boost of legitimacy, as it grew to be one of the great young resorts of the Colorado Rocky Mountains... and who did pay for your Four Million dollar (1983?) retirement home in our hills?
But go meet your God, and see how well he approved your work for the country... go in peace, Jerry!

Rambling Riddle Answers... Petrolcontrol
The dozens of you that read these, have a chance to grasp the deep meaning of my analysis of yesterday. A viewpoint exists, that cannot be found even by reading the MSM (for whom 'Main Stream Media analysis' equals a non-sequitor, almost) of the world's approach to the 'Post-Bush' decade.
One has to look deeply, across the micro-daily events and seek the intersecting macrohistoric, macrovision tangents, which are very obtuse.
World War ONE: the 1914 to 1918 war featured the alliance of FR, UK and USSR, the US (1916 only) and Italy, against the 'Central Powers' (including Austro-Hungary, Germany, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire). Upon victory by the western alliance partners in 1918, amongst activities associated with the Treaty of Versailles, the Ottoman Empire was divided by the victors into the current States, which include Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Jordan (then Trans-Jordan).
So much Western analysis of WWI ignores the southern conflicts, the containment by the British-Arab alliance to repel the Ottoman Empire's attempt, with German support, to reach and secure the oil-bearing lands of Saudi Arabia, Egypt (it was then thought), Iraq and Iran. That is a key macrohistoric fact.
World War TWO: Hitler formed the Axis with Mussolini's fascist government (go to Italy, and see the commemorative sites displaying the names of Italy's fallen sons in the '1938-1945 Nazi-Fascist War', declared Germany's need for 'Lebensraum' and promptly followed his initial Blitzkreig that terrorized the Czechoslovakians and the Low Countries (Belgium, Holland), with actions ranging down into the Saharan desert zone. Rommel's army helped Hitler's bold southern quest, in the hands of the Italian Army to start with...
Cold War: CIA and KGB danced around the Middle Eastern region, with Mossedegh's overthrow in Iran (Hello, Shah), French and English hostilities against Egypt in the Suez Canal crisis, and a series of oil-countries' dictators enjoying the fruits of their political monopoly over oil extraction and refining revenues.
Post-Cold-War Era: as discussed in great detail yesterday, the Bush dynasty's series of Middle Eastern wars must be filtered through a discerning eye for the great trends in oil exploration and exploitation (both for the resources acquired, and the acquired political dictators who gained great wealth by repressing their own societies...)...
TomorrowLAND???
Bin Laden demanded that the US bases be removed from Saudi Arabia, jihad was his methodology of achievement. Bush and Rumsfeld acquiesced to his demand, under the war-glazed profit-seeking eye of the United States' MSM.
Those bases were easily transfered (not physically, per se, but in strike-capacity) into the vast recesses of the Iraqi desert.
If the US is intent on securing physical protection of and access to the world's major oil fields, as undertaken by this regime chock full of oil market players (Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld... ad infinitum), that intent appears multi-generational, appears to further the aims of French and English interests since before World War I, and appears to be metastasizing into a 'trench war' phenomenon, as were Vietnam, and World War I.
Iraq has become the trench, into which both sides are willing to commit further numbing atrocities, in quest of petrolcontrol.

Proxy war against the Saudis? Has it begun?
Let's take the pawns off the chessboard, and just play a game with the 'big pieces'... and remember history:
When April Glaspie passed to Saddam Hussein her instructions from the US State Department, in July 1990., it opened the door for Hussein to attack Kuwait, and the end result was achievement of US bases established in Saudi Arabia, home of the world's greatest oil reserves and? Usama bin Laden. (remember his name-spelling was changed to OSAma after Bush the Lesser became President...)
Some intermingled facts and hypoZENtheticals:
F1: We remember James A Baker III leading, in the supercharged month of November 2000, the scurrilous and unethical aftermath of the election.
H1: There were 'unpublished' reasons that drove the Bush misAdministration to 'march to Iraq' long before September 11. One of those is the move by Saddam Hussein to delineate his oil contracts in Euros, instead of dollars.
F2: The first aggressive act by the USA towards the Taleban, in 2001, occurred not after September 11, but earlier, in July of 2001, when Assist?? Sec'y of State ??? Whoever, who told the ruling Taleban Mullah Omar's representative to reopen negotiations for the UNOCAL transit-pipeline project that had been stalled since 1998, under the alleged threat of (paraphrased) 'take the money we will offer you: a carpet of gold... or a carpet of bombs.'
H2: Whether the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon/Washington DC attacks (mindful of the trajectory of the fourth plane) were aggressive terrorist acts, or preemptively justifiable self-defense depends on the acceptance of our second fact.
F3: Our unending war in Afghanistan, and our unending war in Iraq, were both designed and carried forward by Bush the Lesser and his misAdministration.
H3: That the wars, which have increased Muslim fundamentalism and insurgent-based conflict, and thus are increasing the friction between Muslims and Occidentals.
F4: During the initial war in Iraq, American forces, by direct order of their chain-of-command, guarded with extraordinary efficiency the Ministry of Oil (and Interior!), which housed all information of the State-run oil market, at the same time that all other government installations were ransacked and unguarded.
H4: The military focus of an aggressive State War-action by the US in Iraq, is indicative of its actual intents or motives.
[The threads are starting to ravel]
F5: Sometime in the second or third month of the live war in Iraq, US forces discovered a cache of the most powerful plastic explosive, some 340 tons of this material, and the unit that found it did not remain in control of the stockpile, which was consequently looted by unknown factions of Iraqi nationals or foreign 'insurgents' or... US forces?
H5: Many Iraqi IEDs are sourced from this stolen material, and the possessor of this stockpile of plastic explosive is either ideologically-motivated or profit-oriented.
F6: Suicide bombings, IED manufacturers and car bombing attacks have not ceased to increase in the last two years.
H6: The effect of repetitive car and IED bombings in Baghdad and the other 'hot' parts of Iraq have increased sectarian animosity, and anti-US sentiments.
F7: The Iraqi Shi'ite majority has numerical dominance and has been brutally repressed under years of Sunni-Ba'athist rule; the Iraqi Sunnis correlate with the Saudi Arabian Sunnis, while the Iraqi Shi'ites are close to the Iranian Shi'ites: in the Islamic world, the Sunnis are vastly in the majority.
H7: Failure between Shi'ites and Sunnis to cohabitate in Bush' new Iraq is provoking, and will have, wide repercussions throughout the Islamic world.
F8: The Bush misAdministration has continuously reinforced its intent to 'democratize' both Afghanistan and Iraq.
H8: A democratic Iraqi State could disassociate itself from OPEC.
F9: Iraq is (or should be) the second-largest global exporter of petroleum products behind the Saudis.
H9: Two potential forces exist, which could destabilize the global economy:
- the inordinate rise in the cost of petroleum, affecting global commerce and individual discretionary spending;
- a collapse of the US dollar (See Paul Markham on this).
F10: The dollar, as in petro-dollars, is becoming less attractive to global petroleum traders; Euros have become an increasingly valid petroleum-trading currency.
[The raveled thread soon becomes a spool of yarn]
H10: The US is currently involved in a proxy war against Saudi Arabia, for dollar control of a global petroleum market ruled by OPEC.
H11: The recent recall of the Saudi Ambassador from Washington DC is a VITAL fact of the end of 2006...
... if the Sunni-supported minority destabilizes the US occupation, to deprive Iraq of a unified government that could effect a cessation from OPEC, it is in effect supporting petroleum's high price, which is beneficial to the Saudis.
... and the next steps taken by the increasingly insane Bush-Rice-Cheney-Gates misAdministration may only be tempered by strong and positive Democratic Congressional leadership.

True Anniversary of US World War II Involvement
Little ZEN'ers, good-day to you all.I recall the following ZENmud post of 28 November:
**Which itself refers to the original ZENmud post from October 26, 2006:
"No Mission Accomplished"
And ZENmud reminds our faithful readers that these three posts sequentially discuss the coming anniversary, upon which US involvement in Iraq is of a greater duration than that of US involvement in World War II. And, which a great number of mistaken major US sources described as being several weeks ago... :-)
This Saturday, December 16, 2006, will be the true date upon which the illegal United States war in Iraq will have endured a longer span than that of its own legitimate involvement in the Second World War. US citizens are loath to recount true histories, so it leaves Truth Warriors such as himself, ZENmud, and many others, to trumpet the accuracy of history.
War in Europe began in the first weeks of September, 1939, as aggressive strikes by the German Army and Air Force against Poland and Czechoslovakia provoked Declarations of War from France, England and other Allied Powers, against the Axis of Germany and Mussollini's Italy.
All good Republicans, and such business-allied Democrats such as Joe Kennedy, urged and maintained staunch neutralist positions for the intervening years 1939, 1940, 1941...
While England struggled against massive air raids and bombing runs, the United States negotiated, did commerce, and expanded business liaisons between all factions. The Republican-controlled Senate, under such voices as Henry Cabot Lodge, and others, refused to take sides in hopes that its massively increased investments in German capital interests would not be forgone losses.
And thus the parallels strengthen, between Japan's supposedly 'sneak attack' on Pearl Harbor, and Bin Laden's supposedly terrorist aggression against the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, and the subsequent major tremblements that constituted a massive shift in US public opinion, as well as official Government policy.
So, when history looks back at the current conflagration that was stoked by one SHOCK and AWE after another, and the wreckage of Islamic civilization that Bush the Lesser provoked and ordained, remember that this tragic first Act is only the opening portion of the devastation wrought by the accumulated psychosis of post-11 September Fever.

Still in IRAQ? ONLY ONE SOLUTION
ask the Iraqis!
Ask this Boy, Ali Ismail Abbas
One of the first media-victims of the illegal Bush Neocon war in Iraq... a young boy whose dream was to be a doctor someday.
Ask these fathers (scroll way down)
Who carry their dead children to graves overcharged with young bodies...
Ask these women...
Who sit in the blood of young neighbors, or grandchildren, or their own families' fathers...
Ask YOURSELF...
How any solution of an American Origin would stop the American-perpetrated Iraqi Civil War?
The United States has only one available solution:
Ask Iraqis who could come in, under US funding, and replace the 150 thousand US soldiers, as a force of invitation and security, instead of a US force of occupation and hostility.
There must be a country, or a region of the world, from whom Iraqis could agree that their presence in replacement of the US forces, for a period hopefully less than two years, would provide a totally different aspect to the relationship now determining daily revolt, insurrection and sectarian violence.
ZENmud knows you see the light: US funds supporting some other army, US force withdrawal, Iraqi pacifism emerging painfully from our nightmare of aggressive torture and war crimes...

FLASH FORWARD: 2008 - Bush and extradition
I do believe, in about March of 2008, we'll be reading of the global manhunt for George W Bush, indicted ex-President of the United States, whose overnight escape under protection of a military contingent was as much a surprise to the American media as were any of his 'surprise' visits into Iraq, for Thanksgiving or subsequently...
Hi kG :-)
And if there were to be a manhunt, would it center on Bush' newly-acquired land in Paraguay? A land in which there only recently exists a treaty for the extradition of US citizens? (Deliciously ZEN, if Bush the Lesser was the first US citizen extradited from Paraguay under this treaty...)
Bush the Lesser wants to have his fervent fecal followers, recently exposed as comprising the more demented portion of US citizens, believing until the end, the very end, that he is in charge and working with purpose and with competent advisors to bring the Iraq intervention to a successful end.
Crap.
No one recalls how, in late 1991, Papa Bush, “Bush the Greater” was being requested after his Persian Gulf triumph, to resolve the problem of the New England-centric and nationally-expanding rise in unemployment? And he, wise and noble Republican leader, said in the middle of November 1991 (paraphrased): “Just wait until my State of the Union speech, when I'll be focusing on jobs, jobs Jobs!” And that catchy phrase, was actually first used by our Most DANGEROUS American, James A. Baker III, in describing the Persian Gulf War!
I watched Bush the Greater live when he spoke the Jobsx3: I watched, as he announced to hurting US citizens that if they were watching TV in three months' time, he would give a speech that would address this issue.
Have you fathomed the import of this point?
The response of Bush the Greater, to a growing economic malaise that promoted Bill Clinton's rallying cry 'It's the ECONOMY, stupid!', was that citizens should abide three more months of government inattention, after which speech, Congress could, would, or maybe not (mindful that this was a Democratic Congress in those halcyon days...) take action, and thus the 'solution' of Bush the Greater to 'jobs jobs jobs' could/would only be implemented sometime about a half-year later...
That is when I knew that any Democrat could beat the father of the worst and current president in the history of the United States. Or any Democrat facing Bush and third party candidate Ross Perot...
And thus as this 2008 manhunt for Bush the Lesser intensifies, with mysterious disappearances and deaths by investigating US reporters (see Litvenenko ) as an impediment in tandem with the lack of investigatory aid from the 2008 Paraguayan government, the newly-sworn Republican Presidential replacement would...

Ask the IRAQIS, stupid...
It boggles an exceptional mind, how US-centric decisions from Washington DC have added debacle upon depravity beyond despair.
Bush the Lesser and his stagnant neocon minions never thought to ask IRAQIS if they wanted a US force-intervention to oust Saddam Hussein.
Those neoconartists never asked IRAQIS if we should provisionally banish all Iraqi armed forces, and dissolve the Ministry of the Interior, on whose payroll were the Iraqi national police forces.
They never asked IRAQIS to accept 'reconstruction' under usurists' terms, by foreign, predominantly US corporations, whose mere presence presaged corruption, theft, diversion of funds, fraud, cost-overruns, shoddy service, inedible food (to military canteens under Rumsfeld's – and the Pentagon's – penchant for Private Military Industrial outsourcing.
They never asked IRAQIS through what means of reconcilation could the various Iraqi communities constitute their own government, rather than impose the foreign, Western concept of 'democracy' on a people who for generations have known only colonization, dictatorships and war.
And this Bush misAdministration, as well as the incoming Democratic Congress, certainly will not ask the IRAQIS how the US can transition from its overwhelming series of deadly failures: failures of pre- and post-invasion planning, of administering, of reacting, of bravado and hubris.
ZENmud raised the issue with a prior post, entitled
... yet this issue of the survival and nation-rebuilding of the Iraqi state has been surgically grafted onto the future viability of the Republican Party.
ASK THEM!
ASK THEIR NEIGHBORS!
“Mr and Mrs Iraqi, Mr and Mrs Syrian, or Iranian: United States leadership (a term used with distaste) has destroyed the equilibrium of this important region, through the conscious decision to foist war upon your country and region. We accept the devastation we have wrought, as being unjust, unfounded and beyond unnecessary.
“We cannot ask for your forgiveness, but we who follow the deceptive Bush administration are burdened morally and economically with restitution questions, for which we seek your advice...
“Who would you invite into Iraq, to replace the American occupying forces, provide stable neutral security, for a transitional period of approximately 18 months? The United States will bear the financial burdens for this transition, and would equally request your input as to the countries, NGOs or INGOs, and companies, that can truly rebuild the devastation and horrors from this unjust war?
“We beg your input, we beseech you to allow us to offer the means for you – and people you trust - to restore your pride as Iraqis...”
This is the ONLY just solution.
And?
Probably two years (or ELECTIONS) too late...

World War TWO or Iraq?
Is it true?
It seems that only ZENmud took the journalistic step of defining valid endpoints, the dates that make a calculating the duration of World War II possible, for comparison to the Iraq Quagmire and Nation Deconstructing, in his post of October 26, 2006:
"No Mission Accomplished"
Here's the question:
Was it Sunday, November 26, or Saturday, December 16, that marks the utter failure of Bush the Lesser to create his
Neocom-NirvanIraq Free Market Zone?
The Lap Dog MSM seems flustered, but why? Could they not publish the basis for their stated "calculations"? Why was their mathematics so poor?
:-) ZENmud would love to hear from:
The Durango, Colorado Herald:

"The Iraq war has now lasted longer than U.S. involvement in World War II."
International Herald Tribune:
(November 23, 2006 / Rutenberg)
"the war in Iraq, whose duration will surpass that of U.S. involvement in World War II on Sunday."
USA Today:
(Posted Opinion November 26)
"Although, on Sunday, the 1,347-day-old Iraq war was being compared in duration to WWII..."
www.opinioneditorials.com :
(October 28, 2006 / Oaks)
"October 26, Terrence Hunt of the AP remarked how the U.S. involvement in Iraq will soon have lasted longer than our involvement in World War II. Ari Berman of The Nation made the same claim more than a month ago. And Rupert Cornwell of The Independent stated way back in August that “America’s (and Britain’s) disastrous war in Iraq has now lasted longer than the US involvement in the Second World War.” Each author uses the most convenient date for ‘beginning’ and ‘end’ of US involvement in World War II to make their point, but the actual length is not important for them."

And great minds can determine what is beyond 'No Exit'... today's article on the massive exodus from Iraq:
"Every day up to 2,000 Iraqis go to Syria and another 1,000 to Jordan, according to the UN's high commissioner for refugees."

Republicans = Key to IMPEACHMENT 2007
Or you can read it Here, Craig, Live, NOW:
Republicans are key...
Nixon didn't agree to resign until approximately 20% of sitting Congressional Republicans were ready to vote for his impeachment.
Without that 20%, the Democrats would not have had a filibuster-proof majority.
There is no difference now, and that is how Clinton never came to the brink: the few impeachment-oriented Democrats were not a high-enough percentage for his Presidency to be threatened.
So, when investigations against Bush OR Cheney, together or individually, are sufficient to sway enough Republicans (out of self-survival reasons, if not for the 'Rule of Law' reasons) to come over and vote against their misAdministration, the impeachment apparatus can roll forward.
Good argument earlier: impeach Bush, get Cheney. Remember, again, Agnew resigned due to an indictment to which he pleaded nolo contendre.
A similar path could be: Democrats hold investigation powers, evidence, on Bush-Iraq and Cheney-Halliburton/Energy Task Force...
Democrats force Bush to the table: sacrifice Cheney (resigns under indictment), and have option to 'appoint' new VP, conditional to Dem (we pray) Senate control and approval (so a potentially attractive Rep Presidential 2008 Candidate), have that individual sworn into office, and then Bush, facing likely Democratic PLUS Republican votes to impeach, resigns in 2008.

Nixon is to Bush

Putin responded:"A death of a man is always a tragedy and I deplore this," Putin said when asked about Litvinenko during a news conference after summit talks with European Union leaders.
Putin said the fact that Litvinenko's statement was released only after his death showed it was a "provocation."
"It's extremely regrettable that such a tragic event as death is being used for political provocation," he said.
What the world sees, is a function of the media that filters such a story. With the case occuring in Britain, still the home of a vibrant free press, there may be future developments that come across from autopsy reports, and police investigations.
But it is doubtful, in today's world, that the truth of this heinous, barbaric and chilling act, will ever be known.

- Leftovers galore might have been rejoicefully received by one who holds her belly in pain.
In the next month, President Bush will do all he can to retain the power to which he has become addicted: if you pray today, pray that he doesn't end all that, for which you are presently giving thanks.
I pray, that those that have wronged someone close to them, or far away in other lands, give the greatest gift: their heartfelt apologies, for all that they supported, and enabled to be inflicted on the world, in the name of the United States.
The hopes of our children are primordial...

Unitary Executive (theory)...
ALL government is activist, unless it is a) the Czechoslovakian Republic pre-Velvet Revolution, or b) the Soviet Union in its implosion phase.
It's a powerful media metaphor, that citizens would do well to rebel against...

A tribute to President Kennedy...
Excerpt: "My fellow Americans:
"On November 22 four decades ago I left you, and for those of you who think of me, let me ask a personal favor: reflect for a moment on the world we lived in, the things we believed in, the deeds we did, and the Nation we left in trust for you.
"I was born as America was winning the First World War, was young when America won the Second World War, and was President when America was winning the battle of ideas that led to our victory in the Cold War.
"History teaches lessons; here are some I pass on, to you..."
I was six when you died, John, and 26 when I started to read about what and who killed you: the surest proof that Kennedy(s) were killed by Republicans is the long life of those Republican presidents that have harmed the United States so much...

his South Africa friend and fellow pilot:

Thoughts on James Carville: ex-genius...
Let's start here: it took the Republican party, after the Watergate-Carter 1970s, about 14 years to build a grass-roots network that enabled their 1994 Contract with (or “On”?) America, which allowed them to break the long, dominant stretch of Democratic Congresses, enabling their half-generation of anti-Clinton, and PRO-Bush majorities in Congress.
It took Howard Dean, former front-running Presidential candidate*, only TWO years.
In the face of right-wing-biased media, which nailed shut the Dean campaign, with its false-light portrayal of his purely American enthusiasm, Howard learned the media lesson just as one would hope John Kerry, or Hillary Clinton would learn it also:
'Fool me once, shame on me: fool me twice, shame on you!'
And thus, less than a week after this sumptuous and redeeming victory, a fool stepped forward, a media-darling since his 'heroic' victory as campaign manager for Bill Clinton – James Carville – to portray in a similar false light, this stunning reversal of Political Washington, as sought by the MSM.
James Carville, having perhaps the only 'gravitas' sufficiently engrained in the American Psyche to so render himself, has proved willing to perform this MSM hatchet-job... that Karl Rove would be proud to have been acknowledged as the auteur.
Within two weeks of this massive political Republican Party MELTDown, the MSM has already created the 'Fragile Nancy Pelosi' issue-bias, instead of reporting on the merits of the Hoyer-Murtha challenge for the House Majority Leader post; it has also created the 'Dean's a loser' Carville-ian dementia that is probably being repeated as often as Fox promotes its OJ Simpson blood-lust-hypotheticating-event.
Why would a right-wing MSM ("Main Stream Media") want to froth up the soup about Pelosi and Dean, as much as it wanted to skewer John Kerry in 2004?
One reason – not yet discussed – that I've thought: these become a manufactured opportunity to 'cripple' the Democratic victory, in the eyes of the American public.
Its aftermath will provide necessary doubt for the opening of the 2007 Congressional year, slated with investigations on:
- September 11;
- the lead-up to, and the initiation of the war in Iraq; and,
- the financing of its subcontractors, and reconstruction efforts.
Taking out the man that united the party, and the woman that is destined to lead the Democratic Congress, are simple ASSASSINATION attempts, clean, useful 'preventative medicine' for the 2008 Republican political efforts to retain the presidency...
