Powers of the Petulant...

Never underestimate, or 'misunderestimate' the powers retained by the mentally unstable Petulant Bush... li'l ZENistas, as Bush the Lesser migrates further into his bubble-boy-ness, as Karl Turd-Blossom Rove becomes more agitated by the approaching destruction of his since-childhood dreams of racial supremacy and narcissistic überpsychoses combining to become Neo-conservative failures in every sense of the word... Bush the Lesser will soon, perhaps, find himself seeking another planet to destroy!


How much further, ZEN'ers, how much longer, can Petulant Bush drive his military forward in the lost cause, the box Pandora was warned NOT to open, the greatest military error ever committed by a US Commander-in-Chief?

Visual interlude....

ZEN'ers, greetings! While waiting for Bush the Lesser to 'decide' about things beyond his known capabilities, I thought some of you may want to just ZEN out a minute or two, so this post is devoted to some recent events for which your Humble Narrator was invited.

At a friend's party, I was taken aback by the beauty of the woman, and the hand, and the jewelry she wore, which attached ring to bracelet by a strand of small diamonds: absolutely beautiful.




That was taken after I went up to Morzine to attempt to ski for the first time in our sad, under-snowed winter of 2006-7. Morzine is part of the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest interconnected skiing stations in Europe.

The first photo shown is taken from the east bank of Lac Montriond, on the day before the big storm hit. I was out
tooling around with a couple close friends, and when we found the stillwater on this lake it provided the material to play PhotoShop boy...




This next shot is from the chalet ZEN shared
with friends, very good friends and a happy crowd... the coloring provides a fun relief to the 'monotony' of a cold snowy morning, n'est-il pas vrai?

When a type-A US Vice President talks about Iran, hold on to your wallets, and resurrect your uncle's atomic-bomb-basement shelter... and when interviewed on the USA's worst network, don't anticipate any hard-ball questions...

Chris Wallace is barely able to avoid fawning and soiling his underwear, so enraptured is he by his hero, one of the worst Vice-Presidents in our country's history...

As for his sidekick George the Lesser, stand by and watch sociopathic implosion.

Only time will tell if we wrest back the wheel of state...

China will out-WAL-MART the world...

Hey Zenistas,

Thanks for reading! Sorry, I haven't been very 'visual' this last week... it's a literary month, I guess. But soon, I promise: the 2nd semi-annual "Best of ZENmud" cartoon revue! :-)

Was reading this at Bartcop, and thought you'd like to have a tour through the banalities of the ZENmemoryVAULT... because in my prior diplomatic life, I had a conversation with a colleague from the African continent, who has since retired.

We had a conversation that I drove forward, on a theory I've held some 20 years now, which was that the Americas and Europe, AND Africa, should be prepared to work together, in face of the rising strengths of Asia, both China and India, in the light of 'technology transfers' and the 'knowledge economy'... through in 'IP pirating and counterfeiting' and you can narrow down where I worked...

The nexis of my thinking was simple:

The next 'World War' wouldn't use guns or 'smart bombs'. It would be more simple, and it would follow a process of 'auto-destruction' practiced by the United States, in a leading role.

It would be as simple as this:

Companies from the USA, in pursuit of 'globalization' and lowest possible labor costs (as well as lower safety and environmental standards: frankly those three often are inseperable!), would attain access through contract to install manufacturing factories in China and elsewhere.

However, my friends, it becomes a necessity to factor in that China becomes, in every case, a junior partner to such investment activity: this often is in the forty percent range.

And, I asserted to my African friend, nothing would stop China from duplication of such factories on the other end of their territory, 'stealing' the technology that they acquired through contractual partnerships, and flooding global markets with nearly identical products, at unbeatable "WAL-Mart" prices...

It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quick sands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the Negro's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. Those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. There will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

But there is something that I must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny and their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone.

As we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied, as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We can never be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.

Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair.

I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

And if America is to be a great nation this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania!

Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado!

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California!

But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia!

Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee!

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, When we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

The AFTER-Bush

Well, let's not focus on the word 'wonderous', l'il ZEN'ers. It's time to start marking the calendar and focus on what Bush the Lesser will be doing after whatever event marks the end of his sad, sociopathic reign of Terror,
War For Terror, as you read here in September 2006?

Bush could actually stay in office until his mandate ends, in January 2009. Two years, and two weeks more...

He could be gone sooner than that, but ZENmud neither preaches violence, nor presumes that the Good Democrats in Power now can battle a media-tsunami of anti-anti-Bush rantings, insinuations and reliance on the perpetrations of false accusations fermented on the "conservative street", and broadcast like methane-producing agribusiness in such great states as Indiana, or Ohio.


But I humbly ask you, faithful growing readership: What WILL Bush do after he leaves the Oval Office?


Carry baggage in Baghdad?

Plant peanuts in Paraguay?

Count cash in the Caymans?


Do ZENistas wonder where the fortune is stashed, which obviously has been pilfered from the US Treasury during the Great Republican Decade?


Do we presume it lies in banks between Zurich, Geneva and the Cayman Islands?


Which private contractor will win the Secret Service contract to double the effective bodyguard contigent that Bush' amazingly narrow popularity, remaining now at nearly-record LOW levels (USA Today poll)?

Corruption ALERT

I usually start by thanking Buzzflash or other hot-news sites for their leads and links to articles such as this one found at Alternet: The 10 Most Brazen War Profiteers

It points clearly to the abuses of this misAdministration, which ceaselessly has granted inordinate amounts of contract-cash to Bush the Lesser's Pioneers, and other campaign contributors (excerpt from Charly Cray's September 6, 2006 article):

"The history of American war profiteering is rife with egregious examples of incompetence, fraud, tax evasion, embezzlement, bribery and misconduct. As war historian Stuart Brandes has suggested, each new war is infected with new forms of war profiteering. Iraq is no exception. From criminal mismanagement of Iraq's oil revenues to armed private security contractors operating with virtual impunity, this war has created opportunities for an appalling amount of corruption. What follows is a list of some of the worst Iraq war profiteers [.....]"


Profits on the supply-end, here at home, feature a form of Military Keynesianism, which has your Humble Narrator perplexed greatly.

Why be distressed, ZENmud?

Simply put: if a ZENista has studied her or his macro Economics book, the message is clear, that Keynesianism is a feel-good, socialist, Big Government program, that takes wealth from taxing the well-to-do and passing that cash, through 'unnecessary' government programs to the poor: this is the simple reason most Republicans hated Roosevelt prior to the involvement of the USA in WWII.

This at a time when US investment in England had stagnated, between the two World Wars, while US investment in Germany increased some 40 per cent, including investments held by the Bush family, including Bush the Lesser's great-grandfather George Herbert Walker, president of Union Banking Corporation, and father to
Prescott Sheldon Bush, whose one share of UBC stock garnered a payout of $1.5 MILLION, when the assets of this corporation were distributed, upon its dissolution by the US Government after the war.

So what?

If US conservatives believe that Keynes was wrong, and thus Keynesianism to be the Devil's work, then how did that change 180 degrees, now that 'Military Keynesianism' is driving the United States into perhaps irremediable financial ruin?

HOAX report: Saddam on the moon?!!

My favorite ZEN'ers, bonjour!

I read today at this blog I mentioned yesterday, that websites around the Islamic world are passing the photo you are about to see, with claims that Saddam's face appears.

This is pure PhotoShop work: see for yourself. O
n the left a photo of the moon, in it's fullest phase, and on the right, the SaddamMoon shot. I included the wording I found, without a translation.

There's enough problems in that part of the world, caused by only one President. They won't be reduced by claiming Saddam is in the skies above.

This is done by taking a photo of the ex-dictator, fading it 50% or more, and adding it over a photo of the moon. Very easy.

The author said that the source of this photo did not 'trick' it; thus he couldn't have been the original source. See how this one unfolds...

The SHAME of Bush

Happy Sunday Morning, to my growing family of ZENistas, ZEN'ers and mere mortal visitors... :-)

It dawns on this Macrovisionary author, that the SHAME of Bush the Lesser is about to be fully revealed, and this through the binocular-vision of this recent retirement. A retirement, of one of the most overPETER-Principle'd personalities to (dis)grace the halls of our White House: Harriet Oh-Miers...

"But... what has this all to do with the SHAME of Bush the Lesser?"

L'il ZEN'ers, come down the path of second-level analysis with your Humble Narrator:

A woman that has been THE LEGAL AUTHORITY within OUR White House, and one who apparently was in perfect alignment with such 'notable eminent legal authorities' as former Attorney General John ASSCROFT (click here for proper spelling: my keyboard won't function that way...) or present AG Alberto 'Torture?YES' Gonzales, is walking away.

As was herein said a couple days ago, she faces, in due course, a session of interrogations by inquisitive, and hopefully a shade inquisitorial, Democratic Committees (Foreign Affairs, Defense, you name it!).

She will be invited to weigh-in on the Gonzales Torture Memo (written while that idiot was White House Counsel), she will be invited to render a true accounting of a hundred thousand decisions (probably of which more than 99,992 were illegal, immoral and WRONG), and?

She will be replaced by men. (I am far from a sexist, but there is a subtle, Machiavellian point here)

And this is the SHAME of Bush the Lesser: that happy-Harriet was good-enough to be a 'Yes-Woman' to a sad, demented President and sociopath, in his quest to destroy Iraq, steal their oil revenue, and create the Chaos that allows perpetual theft... But Sad-Harriet is not good enough, legally, to get this Monster-President through the hell he will endure, from this week forward until whatever exit the thing-man Bush the Lesser chooses to leave and slither away to his Paraguayan hideaway.

Harriet: you supported Bushit, you condoned Bushit, and you are leaving Mr. President.

The Shame, is that he entrusted your Counsel to guide his mutilation of our beloved Constitution, the rights it guaranteed to our citizenry, which of course is now irretrievably sullied: by yourself, Gonzales and ASScroft.

Who's your attorney, Oh-my-Miers??

TWO Solutions...

Li'l ZENnies... greetings. This is your draft notice: the only way Republicans can think of, to withdraw the USA from Iraq (news yesterday) is to 'Shill and kill':

They are going to shuck and jive while the Chaos reigns another two years, run the dirtiest campaign (since their last efforts) they can think of, and if they lose the Presidency, hang ou
t the poor Democratic president who, as we read Jerry Ford's embargoed interview only a week or less before, will be forever

'known as the President that lost Iraq."

But devoted ZEN'ers have already read the obvious-to-ZEN solution here before: pay any country that is sufficiently well-endowed (in the military sense), and is acceptable to a clear majority of all three Iraqi families - Shi'ia, Sunni or the Kurds combined, as well as with at least 20 percent of any one tribe, to take over our occupational duties.

This was well-outlined in the 29 November ZENmud post: "Ask Iraqis, Stupid"

Then, updated for your further neural consumption with "Still in IRAQ, ONLY ONE SOLUTION"

But the second solution is not hidden, and ZENners know that I am hardly, or far from, the first one to discuss it, but:

Here it is: Bush must leave office.

That is not harsh, perjurative, anti-Bush or pro-Democrat: it is one jurist's assessment of the long struggle against BushCO, and the obvious-from-observation sentiment of logic: as long as this man is President, he will never support a sea-change on Iraq.

He can't.

It first makes everything he believes, and of which he spews neverendingly, a lie and usurpation of the Constitutional powers he has tarnished forever.

He can't allow the Chaos
(I better again attribute this to ole Bart at Bartcop.com) to end...

As Mallory said in "A Fistful of Dynamite":
"The Revolution,
is Confusion..."

And clearly, as the likes of Harriet Mier take a long deserved 'vacation' (taxpayer-expensed? aka Leavenworth?), running out as 'real attorneys' move in to offer such advice as Floyd Landis first received after his apparent (and doubt-filled) abnormal testosterone-test (this is not to say either named is guilty, but poor advice abounds in the most crucial nano-hours after a publicity-crisis-explosion).

So this ramble tells present ZENistas: there will come a day when you know that the evidence is bad against you. Be prepared, and get out of the way, if your the woman that thinks President Bush is 'the most brilliant man she ever met' (Wikipedia quoting David Frum).

But I do think Harriet is "more brilliant" than George the Lesser:

Afterall, as Mr. Peabody might say:

"Which one is still in the White House?"

Saddam and Abraham: the link???

Outrage grows in Iraq, over the timing and circumstances of the hanging lynching martyring whatevering of Saddam Hussein, as the last act on the World Stage in 2006.

And curiously some question by who's decisions his hasty death was achieved?

And ZENmud questions: did those who act, know that this Islamic holiday honors Abraham? As a "commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham) willingness to sacrifice his son Ismael for God ."

So that if George the Lesser is passing a subliminal message towards increasing the Iraqi CHAOS so as to absorb even longer durations of the conflicts and the THEFTS being undertaken by a good percentage of his contractors, it seems sad that he would choose the very day that honors Abraham, father of Judaism and Christianity... it can't have but negative outcomes: like every single Middle-eastern foreign policy decision to come out of this malignant Oval Office...
