the FreeFall sensation

Exactly forty-five years ago, tomorrow, the President of the United States was assassinated.

John F. Kennedy, and his memory, are many things to many people...

We small children in Minnesota, sitting in our first-grade classroom, were in tears: we were way too young to know how to 'hate liberals', why to 'hate republicans'. My ultra-loved, ultra liberal mother was devastated... My father was in shock, but it was tainted by his virulent violent Republicanism.

And the rest?

'History', with the biggest H, and the biggest Question mark since Humanity invented the English phrase 'conspiracy theorist'. Flash forward, to our modern times. One year ago, crystelZENmud wrote a post: 08

Impeachment: power of We, the People...

While it didn't dwell on the basis for our pontification, we have long held the nagging thought that it was amazing what has happened to our country since Republicans began 'killing Democrats', since their gun-happy days in the 1960s when great social leaders were gunned down 'mysteriously' by a series of identically-bizarre, identically-Loner 'Social Outcasts' (Oswald, Sirhan, Ray, Bremer; shot respectively Kennedy, Kennedy, King and Wallace).

In the same vein, the assassination of John Lennon, the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan, and the behaviour of Osama bin Laden (known throughout time as 'USAMA', except in the US Media), all do share a mysterious pattern, even without delving into the facts of each case... Almost as if a group of people had hit on the perfect formula to turn some loser into a Manchurian Candidate, and then set them out on the street to do their evil work?

The corollary to this theory, is that it appeared to have evolved in the 1990s. As if someone, again, had decided that "
soonaer or later, we're going to slip: we need to modernize our 'warfare'".

Well... the insanity is back... you can find ample stories in rightwing blogs about 'Obama's Birth Certificate', and laugh to your heart's fulfilment, as many rabid and barely-competent radically violent rightwing conspiracy junkies (nb: there's no 'nuance' between a 'theorist' and a 'junkie'... it's pretty Black-and-White).

The difference between someone rationally dispising or deploring the policies of a failed President Bush, and the irrationally-driven fears mongered by rightwing hate-radio and blogs, chat-sites and more, is astounding. As someone very close said: Republicans tend to be 'wrong but strong'.

Where to take this, in an era that mirrors those exuberant days of the early Sixties, before the US of A was buried in a Vietnam war that would stain it for a generation, and the rise and fall of the Woodstock nation, which 'died' as young and undeveloped as Joplin, Hendrix, Morrison and others?

Rodney King, victim of police brutality, requested that 'we all try to get along?', after his ordeal was ended with victory against the police in LA that beat him (the first 'video bystander' whistleblower case in our times).

Racism took a deep cut with the election of Barack Hussien Obama. It hasn't been since 1988, that a President received such a strong percentage over fifty percent: Papa Bush beat Michael Dukakis, and took 53.4 percent, very close to Obama's apparent 52.8 percent.

Here at ZEN Central, we are anxious to see the transition, fearing still that the legacy of Bush will taint the next generation of Oval Office occupants. Our greatest expectation, mirrors our greatest fear: that Obama can establish a road towards peace INSIDE these United States, that puts his followers in the right position to continue cleaning up the domestic and foreign tragedies that modern Republicanism has bestowed, upon us... a verifiable fiasco that will take a generation to heal... if 'McCoys versus the Hatfields'-type of relations remain between the Two Political Parties, and between America and the cultures it has sought to destroy.

Obama is limited, one chosen representative: if he acts more as a Guide, than a Leader, there's hope for your childrens' tomorrows...

Sixty - Forty - Twenty ...

January 30... sixty years ago:

In 1948, people in India were saddened (understatement) to find their 'Father of the Nation', Mahatma Gandhi, had been assassinated by a Hindu 'extremist' (a word we know so well today...), named Narayan Vinayak Godse...

Mahatma was shot three times... this photo comes from Geneva, Switzerland, a mural that adorns the wall of the largest Salle of the 'House of Associations', where Oxfam and many other NGOs have their Geneva offices.

Would Gandhi have any more influence on events of our turbulent deadly decade, then the noted non-violent Statesmen of our era?

At ZENmud productions, we don't believe he could have changed our current history... '

January 30... forty years ago:

United States armed forces were caught unprepared for the Tet offensive
in Vietnam, an action that turned the war, in a year that turned the world, away from peace, and, with the election of Richard Nixon, brought on the beginning of the era in which we find ourselves aghast, sometimes, at the unceasing violence that brings pain to the mothers, and wealth to the arms merchants globally...

As a Human being, opposing war in all contexts, seeking peace in all cultures, one wonders how the world we love, has been taken over, in the States and elsewhere, by arms merchants and the politicians who amass your wages and spend them on DeathTOYS...

These men couldn't join Gandhi, in following his words of peace, because they were all gunned down by 'people who hate(d) Democrats'...

Martin Luther King

Robert F Kennedy

And twenty years ago?

Not much: Reagan was handing off the ball, Gipper to Bush the Greater, having shrugged off Kerry's investigations and the Iran contra scandal... and this, from the New York Times archives:

Edwin Meese was told of payments to be made to the Israeli Labor Party for help in arranging a billion-dollar Iraqi oil pipeline, present and former Government officials said.

No jokes in Pakistan...

At ZENmud productions, we've seriously debated whether this line of thought will send assassins to our door...

What happened these last days in Pakistan, seems like a message, but not the kind that the press is discussing on Page ONE.

We're lost, thinking of how Benazir Bhutto's death is the culmination of several intersecting lines of past history and current events. Without the key elements, however (and 'whew!!!' that we don't know those...), the only thing to do is to cast these disparate elements on the table, like I Ching yarrow sticks...

The ELEMENTS:

In 1996 or so, the Taliban were created and installed in Afghanistan, as a means of solidifying a rogue State; the group was trained and exported from Pakistan. Pakistan was then the first State to recognize, diplomatically and officially, the new Afghani government.

As we saw in newsreels, some of which were included in the Michael Moore film FAHRENHEIT 9-11, at about that same time, a pipeline was under discussion between various governments and the US company UNOCAL; Moore showed footage of the Taliban being entertained by Governor GW Bush.

At about the same time that the Taliban refused to dance, on the UNOCAL proposal,
or shortly thereafter, the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) was hotting up its rhetoric, calling for a 'Pearl Harbor' type of 'cataclysmic event' that would force US citizens to think differently about foreign policy.

In 1999, Pervez Musharraf became President of Pakistan, in an ingenious coup-d'Etat: while circling over Pakistani soil in a plane, former PM Sharif had refused entry to Musharraf's plane, after a short 'war' with India had gone very much awry. That war, planned by Musharraf, was condemned by the international community, yet! When Musharraf was denied entry by Sharif, that provoked the PK generals to oust Sharif, allowing Musharraf to land with some seven minutes of fuel remaining.

One cannot but include the bin Laden/Bush/Baker/Major connections through the Carlyle Group, a major privately-held US corporation that invests in the machinery of war, and recently has diversified into communications acquisitions.

Bush takes over the US Presidency, from a decision by the US Supreme Court.

Bin Laden (AKA Usama during Clinton's reign, changed to 'Osama' during the Bush administration) makes himself central player of the three Islamic dynamos, being Yassar Arafat, Saddam Hussein, and Usama bin Laden.

Bush creates his first WAR Coalition, to take over the Taliban government, reek havoc on the innocent Afghani people (mostly, and nearly bombed out of existence over the preceding twenty years).

Bush takes Musharraf's offers of support and alliance with the US government, paying a monstrous amount of money annually for Pakistan's help on the "WAR FOR TERROR" (A ZENmud post on that here), from 2001 until today.

IRAQ... sigh...

Throughout these war-wearied years, a dance between Bush, Musharraf and bin Laden has undermined American support of the perpetual Bush war plans... and bin Laden has enjoyed perhaps the longest streak of failures ever displayed by the 'mightiest force on Earth'... due to complicity by any of his partners, whom we can only fear knowing, whether domestically located within the USA, or elsewhere.

AND, reading today about the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, ZENmud productions is left with one recurring thought:

IF Bhutto, an opponent of Musharraf, was assassinated by factions loyal to bin Laden, then there can be no doubt on Earth, that bin Laden is showing gratitude towards his host, as a GUEST, for the luxury of a peaceful existence so near to two US Armed Forces actions, by reducing the Pakistani opposition to 'rubble'.

IF it isn't clear yet, who's playing whom against whom, it could very well be that there is no part of any recent history emanating from these 'Stanistan' countries, that IS as it APPEARS to be.

Is the last series of Pakistan events, rotating between Bhutto's return, the emergency martial law month, and now her assassination, a reward for Musharraf (or his military, or Intelligence Service?), to Musharraf, for his perpetual "We honestly don't know..." responses to those who 'want' to find bin Laden???
